At Ease, we are on a mission to make everyday haircare simpler, more effective, and more intentional. Each bar is handcrafted with love using thoughtful, natural ingredients inspired by classic Eastern rituals. We believe the best haircare is great for you and gentler on the planet.
Our Story
2019: Our story began with our founder Karina's quest to heal her own hair. She was stuck in a cycle of pricey treatments and chemical-filled products, and her hair was paying the price. Not to mention all the plastic bottles she accumulated were taking a toll on her on her conscience. Enough was enough, and she decided to take the matters into her own hands. Drawing on remedies from her Hong Kong upbringing, she started mixing up all natural shampoo bar in her own kitchen. It worked so well, her whole family and some friends wanted in. From there, Ease was born (originally named SoapYummy).
2022: What started as a fun passion project quickly grew into a community-driven small business. Word spread fast, and soon Ease was reaching loyal customers all over the world in Hong Kong, Singapore, China, United States, and more. Retailers in Asia also wanted in with local shops stocking up and delivering to their happy customers. Turns out we weren’t the only ones tired of dandruff, fizzy hair, and bottles full of chemicals we couldn’t pronounce. With the momentum growing, Karina teamed up with her aunt to help with production and operations. This duo was the force behind every bar.
2026: Fast forward to today, we are ready for even more. With a new team on board, we may have leveled up our branding, but our mission hasn’t changed one bit. We’re still here to fix bad hair days once and for all, using natural ingredients that are good for you and good for our planet. Revamped look, same heart, same fight against companies filling our hair with chemicals and our planet with harmful waste. What started with a shampoo bar made from our founder's kitchen has now evolved to a rotation of hair products designed to ease your everyday routine. We are just getting started!
Founder's Note
Hiii friends! Karina here 👋 and if you’re reading this, chances are you and I have shared the same struggle: standing in the shower, wondering why our hair still looks… sad even after trying every little hack and product. This is my story.
Growing up in Hong Kong, my mom and auntie treated hair care with (what I thought at the time) some crazy recipes like rice water rinses and fruit and vegetable oils. These ingredients seemed like they weren't made for your hair but somehow worked. I ignored their suggestions and stuck to the shiny plastic bottles… until my own hair started falling apart and couldn't full recover its old shine.
So I started making my own formula using everything I learned from my mom and my grandma's generation. After lots and lots of trial and error, I created a lavendar bar that actually worked and my hair was finally soft, happy, and dandruff-free for the first time in years.
I am no Harvard trained scientist or a big beauty influencer, just a girl who loves good hair days and cares for our planet, and didn't see anything in the market that did both. So I teamed up with really smart people to bring that to life.
